Must a New Year Mean Change?
News
HAPPY NEW YEAR! And welcome to the first Ground & Water blog of 2022. We hope you enjoyed the festive period, managed to safely see family and friends; and had some well-earned relaxation after what was, for many, a trying 2021.
Those of you who had to work over the last couple of weeks, thank you. The country can’t just come to a standstill and we appreciate each and every person, who has been keeping us safe, fed and watered. We thank the people who cared for our elderly or unwell friends and relatives; the army or workers who kept our shelves stacked, our heating on and helped to keep our days merry and bright.
At this time of year, it is traditional to come up with a resolution. We’ve all done it and usually it’s a big goal or a drastic change in our behaviour or appearance. For those who have chosen to make a New Year’s resolution for 2022, we wish you all the strength and fortitude you will need to achieve your goal.
Radical change is not on Ground & Water’s agenda for 2022. Following three years of significant change we are quite happy with who we now are and what we do. We’re very happy with our client list and the fact that you seem satisfied, often delighted, with the service we provide; and that we ensure you have all the necessary information you need to get projects running on time, on budget, and approved. We got here through gradual but consistent improvement and that, again, is our focus for 2022. To keep being the organisation that we pride ourselves on being, but always just that little bit better than yesterday. Always looking at ways to improve ourselves and to help others do the same thing – as is demonstrated by our bespoke Continuous Professional Development courses. Get in touch if you’d like us to tailor one to your team!
Our determination and tenacity in 2022 will be channeled towards our continued growth, as a team and as individuals. We will stay true to the values and principles which have enabled us to get to where we are, while actively seeking out ways to make life better for any and all of our stakeholders – the Ground & Water family, clients, suppliers, the communities we work in and around, and beyond. “New Year, New Me” is an often heard phrase, but we’ll stick to the formula that has served us so well to this point – investing time and effort into unhurried but sustainable improvement.
On the subject of a sustainable future, we have now officially entered the Geological Society’s Year of Sustainability. We have a few ideas up our sleeves but we’re looking forward to seeing a raft of initiatives and improvements throughout the industry, which will hopefully go some way toward turning the tide towards a more environmentally friendly way of doing business across the board. One of many things we are excited about in the coming year, we look forward to sharing this journey with you through our blog. So if we must to pin our colours to a New Year’s resolution mast, sustainability would be its name.
Let us know what your resolution is for 2022. And more importantly, tell us how can we help you achieve it.
