London Build – the countdown is (still) on…
Industry matters • News
Earlier this year, we shared the exciting news that after attending London Build 2021 as guests, we would have our own stand at this November’s show.
We said at the time that we were looking forward listening in on some of the various panel discussions, and now we can confirm that both of our directors will be contributing.
Dipalee Jukes has been asked to sit on the Diversity and Inclusion stage – a female business owner, in engineering, with Dipalee’s background and heritage, is surely a great person to offer a fresh perspective to many people in the construction industry. We can’t wait to watch her do herself and G&W proud. In addition to this, Francis Williams will be taking part in a panel on Future-Proofing Buildings Through Sustainable Design. No spoilers here but we think sustainable use of soils might crop up as a specialist subject.
We’ve also been hard at work putting together some goody bags with all the usual branded free stuff that you’ve rightly come to expect from these events – in between sessions and meetings at our stand, we’ll be doing the rounds to get as many freebies as possible to take home ourselves. Who knows, we may even end up marginally in profit on the merch front!
On a related note, the London Construction Awards (run by the same company behind London Build) will be taking place next month – for those as yet unaware (where have you been?!) G&W are proud to have been shortlisted for Engineering Consultant of the Year. We’re told that around 70 companies put themselves forward for this award with just under 10% of them being shortlisted. Our submission was largely comprised of testimonials, as we realised that anything we wrote entirely ourselves ran the risk of sounding braggy or at the very least biased, so we have our wonderful clients to thank for this achievement.
It’s still up in the air as to whether we’ll be attending the awards – this is very much a whole team achievement but it would be impossible to get the whole team along on the evening – but we can guarantee we’ll be at the Olympia Centre come November for London Build Expo, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible there.
